Guatemala 2027 Expedition
Guatemala, often called the “Land of Eternal Spring,” is a nation of breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and deep-rooted history. Located in Central America, it gained independence in 1821, yet the legacy of the ancient Maya civilization continues to shape its rich cultural identity. Equally defining are Guatemala’s people, whose warmth, resilience, hospitality, and strong sense of community make the country welcoming and deeply human.

Hope Alliance partners with local leaders and community organizations in Guatemala to provide pop-up vision clinics in villages where access to eye care is limited or unavailable. Clinic days are long and demanding, often serving several hundred patients in need of screenings, glasses, and compassionate care. Along the way, we travel rural roads and adapt daily to new locations such as schools, churches, community centers, or small medical buildings. This is not a tourist trip, but a deeply authentic experience that brings you face-to-face with beauty, hardship, and hope. Witnessing someone see clearly for the first time is a profoundly powerful and life-changing experience.
