Uganda 2026 Expedition
Uganda, known as the “Pearl of Africa,” is a nation of remarkable natural beauty, rich culture and deep-rooted history. Located in East Africa, it gained independence in 1962, yet its ancient kingdoms continue to shape its strong cultural identity. Equally defining are Uganda’s people, whose warmth, hospitality, and strong sense of community make the country welcoming and deeply human.

Hope Alliance partners with Bwindi Community Hospital to provide pop-up vision clinics in remote villages where care is otherwise unavailable. Clinics days are long and demanding, serving several hundred patients. In route we travel rough, rural roads and adapt daily to new locations such as schools, small medical buildings or beautiful, open-air churches. This is not a tourist trip, but a deeply authentic experience, that brings you face-to-face with beauty, tragedy and hope. Witnessing someone see clearly for the first time is a profoundly powerful and life-changing experience.

Cultural Experience
We depart Kigali, Rwanda by bus, first visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park, known for its abundant wildlife and diverse ecosystems. Here we enjoy a late afternoon boat safari and early morning game drive. We then travel to Bwindi to fulfill the service portion of the trip. At the end of our service, participants may opt for a gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (fee not included) or a cultural experience with the indigenous Batwa people. After departure from Bwindi we overnight at the peaceful Lake Bunyonyi. The trip concludes in Kigali for return travel home.
