A New Year & New Volunteer Opportunities for YOU!
We are seeking optometrists to join The Hope Alliance in 2017. We have a bunch of opportunities for you to volunteer with us and help those in need locally and internationally. We need at least one eye doctor to run a vision clinic, so if you are available to volunteer with us please choose from the following dates and locations below. You can send your availability to email@example.com. The sooner we get commitment from you the sooner we get clinics on the schedule and recruit patients.
Promise South Salt Lake in South Salt Lake (Refugee community)
February (4th OR 11th)
May (6th, 13th OR 20th)
August (5th, 12th, 19th OR 26th)
October (7th, 14th, 21st OR 28th)
People's Health Clinic in Park City (uninsured in Summit and Wasatch counties)

***We are excited to announce a new model of best practices that we will be utilizing for our local clinics. One of our incredible volunteer optometrists found us a connection that allows us to get NEW prescription eyeglasses for our patients. The clinic will flow as follows:
1) Brief Eye and Medical History (Volunteer)
2) Monocular entering visual acuities, and if limited then pinhole. (Volunteer)
3) Retinamax. (Volunteer)
4) Pupils, cover test and confrontation. (Doctor)
5) Refraction (Determining RX for glasses) Done with phoropter. (Doctor)
6) Slit lamp exam for external conditions. (Doctor)
7) Fitting of glasses, check visual acuity. (Volunteer)
8) Anesthetic drops and glaucoma test. (Doctor, or Volunteer)
9) Dilating drops (Doctor, or Volunteer)
10) Retinal exam done with Slit Lamp and Binocular Indirect Ophthalmoscope. (Doctor)
***The Hope Alliance has the following equipment that can be used during each of the clinics. You are welcome to bring your personal equipment and tools as well.

Are you in the medical field and want to practice locally or internationally? The Hope Alliance is always seeking qualified professionals in the fields of Optometry, Dentistry and General Medicine to participate in our various projects around the world.
For the trip we do require a resume, diploma, license and malpractice insurance.
If you are an expert on basic needs (water, sanitation, construction), we want you!
