“I think Haiti is a place that suffers so much from neglect that people only want to hear about it when it’s at its extreme. And that’s what they end up knowing about it.”
― Edwidge Danticat

Our work in Haiti stems back over 15 years and has largely been due to the passion and drive of Kym Meehan, an active Emeritus Board Member for The Hope Alliance. Her missions have included:

  • Home Re-roofing Projects
  • Micro-business/Entrepreneurship Programs
  • Orphan/Orphanage Sponsorships
  • Creation of The Camatin Sewing School
  • Water System Installation & Education
  • Prenatal, Midwifery and Other Health Education Programs
  • Soccer camps
  • Vision clinics

"Believing in the fundamental principles that The Hope Alliance stands for, made possible a life for the children of Haiti that was otherwise not possible... When we tire, we need to remember the many children in Haiti." -Kym Meehen, THA Haiti Director
