Throughout the two day microfinance seminar, John Hatch will be speaking about global poverty and the need for micro-credit lending.  He will also teach about organizing village banking systems and the management of microfinance programs. 

John Hatch is the Founder of FINCA, one of the world's leading micro-credit institutions with programs in 21 countries and over one million low-income families assisted since its inception in 1984.  John is also known as the father of "village banking", a group loan methodology now replicated by over 800 micro-credit programs in 60 countries. 

John earned a PhD in Economics from the University of Wisconsin in 1973.  He recently received the 2009 Sargent Shriver Award for Distinguished Humanitarian Service.  John's economic development career spans 44 years, during which time he was a Peace Corps volunteer and staff member, Fulbright scholar, economist, and a consultant to small farmer development projects in some 50 countries. 

The seminar will begin Friday, April 9 from 1:30PM-5:30PM and will conclude Saturday, April 10 from 8AM-5PM, including a networking luncheon from 12PM-1PM.
